Easy Ribs

Easy Ribs

  • Full rack of baby back pork ribs
  • 1 Cup of smoked paprika
  • 1/4 Cup of onion powder
  • 1/4 Cup of garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • Bottle of bbq sauce of your liking, I recommend Sticky Fingers
  • Aluminum foil
  • Glass or ceramic 9×12 baking dish
  • Ladle

Preheat oven 275 F

Cut one rack of baby back ribs into 2-3 rib slabs. You can leave them whole or just cut them in half if you want to make it easier on yourself. That’s ok, they will still cook through just fine but I like to cut them smaller because you get better dry rub and sauce coverage which gives you more crust, and really that’s what is so delicious. Place ribs, meat side up, into the baking dish.

Cover the top and sides of the ribs with spices. You can always add cayenne pepper or chili powder for a kick if you want it. I prefer to add 1 teaspoon of cayenne powder but the kids don’t always love that so I usually omit it. Rub in the seasoning and flip the ribs so that they are meat-side down.

Cover the top of the ribs in 1 1/2 Cups of BBQ sauce. Cover the dish in aluminum foil and place in the oven for 3.5 hours- 5 hours

Take the dish out and remove the foil. Turn the oven on low broil. Please Do This Carefully, It’s HOT! Spoon sauce from the bottom of the dish onto the tops of the ribs. Return ribs to middle or low rack in oven for 30min.

Remove and enjoy. Now you can claim you’re a pitmaster and back it up.
