This makes a lot, so it’s great for a party.
8 or 9 quarts popped corn
1 cup peanuts
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1⁄2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1⁄2 tsp.baking soda
Combine popcorn and nuts in large container. Set aside. Combine sugar, salt, corn syrup and margarine in saucepan, stirring constantly until boiling. Boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda until foamy. Pour syrup over corn mixture, stirring until well coated. Pour into 2 large pans and heat in 250° oven for 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Remove, cool, and separate.
